Yes. There are surgeries that can be performed to correct alot of them and allow the children to live full, normal lives and sometimes a transplant is required if the condition is severe enough but not too severe where nothing can be done.

well..it depends on the overall health of the baby.in case of preterm or premature babies or any other physical abnornality,survival chances decreases but still most of the time they make it through....isolated cases of heart anomalies r quite successfully treated these days......but the type of congenital anomaly is also an imp. influencing factor affecting the prognosis.

ive had one all my life and in my teens it started to become a problem. they didnt even know about it! so YES of course theres hope.

Absolutely! I have Single Ventricle, and I had 3 open heart surgeries. I'm doing fine now, and when I was a baby the surgery was relatively new. Advancements are made constantly, and there is SO MUCH hope. If you want to talk about it, e-mail me!
