not with 5-10#, unless already anorexic, loss of electrolytes/ potassium, calcium affect heart function/nervous system etc.

Weight loss occur when you have hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism may cause heart palpitations (cardiac arrhythmia).

5 or 10lbs loss if you are overweight will reduce your risks. Only starvation which can cause cardiac muscle break down can increase your risks.

It actually can in theory if that 5-10 pounds in weight reduction has left you drastically underweight. I guess it depends how over/underweight you were in the first place? But generally no, weight loss of that amount is unlikely to cause any problems to the heart unless you are severely underweight. If this is the case then being very underweight can cause arrhythmia's, drastic drop in HR and blood pressure, blood flow would be reduced as well as cholesterol levels rising and damage to the heart muscle due to heart muscle break down would occur.
