my boyfriend had a hole in his heart,it was inborn..what we found out is that he have a disease call murmur i just wanna know whether it is curable..and if it is incurable,how much time will he left?..he is only 17..thanks..

No, murmur is not curable. He's only got about 65-70 more years left to live (unless, of course, he's from a family of centurians). A heart murmur isn't ANYWHERE near as bad as say, having high blood pressure or high cholesterol. Now, he shouldn't try participating in any sports, unless he's been physically active his entire life. But he'll live to be a ripe old age.

most are not ,they are small holes near the valves that leak blood to other valves so that it gives the heart a irregular beat. if caught when young,surgery may be performed.

no its not cureable nearly everyone has a murmur to some extent it really depends on how bad it is some people with a bad murmur will live to be old and grey but most of the time its not a huge deal

a murmur is a clinical finding, it can be heard with the help of a stethoscope. some are innocent ,some are pathological. if there is a hole in the heart, depends where the site would be, most of the time the hole closes in time, some remains patent. to have a definitive diagnosis, its better to have a cardiologist check him.

hey the disease is not called a murmur. Murmur is a clinical finding heard by the doctors sthetoscope It needs to be found out why he has a murmur, but not all murmurs are ominous for eg, some healthy but thin chap can have a murmur just because of the shape of his ribcage, but to say so other diseases of the heart have to be ruled out see ur cardiologist and he may rpescribe a test called echocardiography

Heart murmors are quite common. It does not mean that there is anything wrong with the heart. If your boyfriends Doctor is just telling you that he has a heart murmor then I wouldn't worry about it. If his Doctor felt that it is more then a murmor then he would have had extra test done on him. There are lots of people that have Heart Murmors.
