Would you immediately cash-in your stock options in their ice-cream if Ben & Jerry died of heart disease?

1 :
No. Besides, Ben & Jerry don't even own Ben & Jerry's anymore. It is owned by a big Danish conglomerate.
2 :
yes.
3 :
who is ben and jerry?mmmmmm......ice cream......yummy!!!!!!
4 :
No... Just like I wouldn't cash-in any Ford stocks I have if CEO Alan Mulally died in a car crash.
5 :
I would buy more stock. It would go well with my 'heart stopper deluxe' burger. And there's no bad publicity especially when advertising sins of the arteries. The world wants it and is populated by a big yellow clown with a drive through.
6 :
You do know that Ben Cohen of Ben and Jerry's underwent a quintuple bypass. Not good.
7 :
you're bad... indirectly wishing Ben & Jerry to die of heart disease... *shakes head

I don't know much about this but my first choice would be to concentrate on omega-3s and omega-6s

Coronary heart disease is due to eating bad oils like VEGETABLE OILS that are very unstable and go rancid very easily even in the body; a nano bacteria that can be found in cooked foods and attacks the heart muscle, arteries, the pancreas, and kidneys; inflammation in the body, especially in the teeth, etc. Bottom line is that there are a lot of things that cause heart disease. A very necessary vitamin that will nourish the heart tissue is COQ-Quinol that is fully reduced. All the COQ-10 products being sold on the market actually can damage the body because it is in the "ash" form and not fully reduced. This form will not even help damaged cells. COQ-10 is actually vitamin Q. Like many so called vitamins that are nothing more than synthetic chemical activators that damage the body's DNA and become toxic to the body, these activators strip the body of cofactors and actually make you less healthy, not more healthy. These single element so called vitamins actually can cause more problems than they purport to help. When you look at the ingredients in the bottles, you will see loads of excipients that are also damaging and many actually cancer inducing like talc. All the pill manufacturers use talc to give good release from the machines. Bad news. Anything that helps the muscles will help the heart. Calcium and magnesium are key elements. good luck to you

This Patient Guide is written for the loved ones of heart patients who are dealing with the short-term stress that comes with a test, procedure or recent diagnosis of heart disease. It explains why support is so important to a loved one with heart disease. It also offers practical strategies on how to support a loved one while also taking care of yourself.

There is no specific nutrient or combination(s) that will prevent heart disease. That said, there are several nutrients that the heart needs to maintain proper health and function. These include but are not limited to: calcium, iron and protein. Basically, since the heart is a muscle, any nutrient required for proper muscle support is needed by the heart as well. The diets of people living in the US and other developed countries normally provide adequate amounts of the essential nutrients to maintain health. It's other things we find in our diets that cause harm, particularly in the US. Things like saturated fat, trans fatty acids, cholesterol and sodium. The body does need certain amounts of some fats, cholesterol and sodium. It does not need any trans fat. We Americans consume way too much of these. Eating a diet high in fiber is recommended by most experts. A varied diet focusing on fruits, vegetables and whole grains is also promoted by most. Meats should include leaner cuts with all visible fat removed. Fish and poultry are recommended. Especially fish high in omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids are another recommendation. Omega-6 can be found in liquid vegetable oils, including soybean oil, corn oil, and safflower oil. It is also found in soybeans, canola, walnuts, and flaxseed. Some people may benefit from dietary supplements. This is something that should be discussed with your healthcare provider. Physical Activity/Daily Exercise are also very important factors in fighting cardiovascular disease. This could be a simple as walking around the block or may include a gym membership with an intense cardio workout. Check out the links below if you want more information

Could Untreated Cavities lead to Heart Disease And/Or Death
Could Untreated Cavities lead to Heart Disease And/Or Death?
How?

Your teeth have capillaries. A cavity is a hole in your tooth. If bacteria gets on the tooth it will get into the cavity, and into the capillary, then right to heart. I don't know about death, but you will have to be put on antibiotics.
2 :
I'll try and keep this brief. The real answer to your question requires a lot of anatomic and biologic background. So, no, untreated cavities will not lead to heart disease. Heart disease by definition is typically a problem with the arteries which feed the heart muscle itself, or problems with the heart muscle or associated veins/arteries. Can cavities cause death, yes in very rare cases. This is typically caused by swelling of the area under and around the tongue which can cause the airway to close, causing death. Even more, extremely RARE, is a systemic (whole body/bloodstream) infection that has started in a tooth. In many years of practice I have never seen one (and I have spent years at a University hospital). Addition: In case some one flips over this answer, some patients do require an antibiotic prior to dental procedures. This is due to specific health problems they may have. Some dental procedures have been reported to cause an increse in bacteria in the blood stream. This reason has led to SOME persons needing antibiotics prior to surgery, deep cleanings, etc. Yes, years ago some people died of what is known as "Bacterial Endocarditis", but this is EXTREMELY rare nowadays!

Do your think terrorism or heart disease is more dangerous
Do your think terrorism or heart disease is more dangerous?
Philosophy - 5 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
People have a 1-in-5 chance of dying of heart disease in their lifetime. The odds of being the target of a terrorist act is over 1-in-500,000... probably closer to 1-in-1,000,000 given the actual frequency of attacks in the U.S. or Europe. So I'd say heart disease. ;-)
2 :
The idea of terrorism is a panopticon of violence. You don't know who will be a target. But you do know how to prevent heart disease. I don't know what I'm saying exactly... but I've argued that fast food is a weapon of mass destruction, so, there you have it: Considering no terrorist has the power to kill like a greasy restaurant chain.
3 :
I do worry about terrorism, but the chances of Al-Qaida targetting the small town where I live are pretty slim. My chances of having a heart attack are far greater. A few of you may have been the victim of terrorism or you know someone who has been. But everyone has been affected by heart disease, either directly or indirectly. In other words, you either have it or know someone who has. All in all, heart disease still kills far more people than terrorism. So, that makes it more dangerous.
4 :
What we really have to watch out for is the terrorists with heart disease. (And waterproof phones.)
5 :
In peaceful times, heart attack because terrorist attacks are scarce; however, some psycho may decide just to kill the whole human population by biological or nuclear warfare

What is organic heart disease
What is organic heart disease?
what does the word organic signifies here? What is the difference between organic heart disease and degenerative heart disease?
Heart Diseases - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Organic means the heart muscle is diseased as opposed to having something like BP effect the heart indirectly
2 :
There isn't necessarily a difference between organic heart disease and degenerative heart disease. Organic diseases are contained within the affected organ, which means there is some type of abnormality in the organ (which is the heart in this case). Abnormalities may be present at birth, or they may develop from some type of injury that doesn't heal completely. If the abnormality affects organ function and becomes worse over time, it is a degenerative disease. You could have heart disease that is both organic and degenerative, a degenerative disease that is not organic, or an organic disease that is not degenerative.
3 :
There are two types of Organic H.D. - Congenital and Rheumatic. Defects that occur at birth are classed as Congenital Heart Disease. These may affect the heart itself : it may not have developed normally during pregnancy, the wall of the heart may be damaged (hole in the heart), or the blood vessels may be underdeveloped. These defects may be hereditary or more likely have been caused by external factors such as drugs or infection during pregnancy. They are normally diagnosed at birth or in early childhood but it is not uncommon for the symptoms to occur for the first time in adulthood. Rheumatic Heart Disease can be the result of a bout of rheumatic fever. Occurrences have decreased considerably due to the use of antibiotics to treat rheumatic fever. There are at least eight specific diseases, which fall into the category of Degenerative Heart Disease. The common factors within this category are that the disease has progressed gradually and that there is no specific event that has caused it.
4 :
I am afraid I can see no point in the prefix organic in this context. It is usually applied to distinguish between physical and psychological conditions. I suppose it might mean that a patient has a physical explanation for chest pain, as distinct from a non-physical or psychological one. It might be that you have taken the 2 words out of context. If a physician tested a patient with chest pain and found no identifiable cause,he might say 'there is no evidence or organic heart disease.

What does high cholesterol have to do with heart disease
What does high cholesterol have to do with heart disease?
Engineering - 2 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Have high chlosterol causes a fatty deposit to clog up you're arteries therefore restricting the amount of blood that can pass through at any given time. This can cause clots which can lead to heart attacks, strokes & even death.
2 :
Our bodies cannot function without cholesterol, but where there is too much in the blood, the tendency is for it to be deposited as fatty plaque in the arteries which supply blood to vital organs like the heart and brain. When these organs are starved of sufficient blood as a result of the clogging of the arteries due to plaque, heart attack (cardio-vascular accident), stroke (cerebro-vascular accident) and many other complications follow. To find out more, wiki to cholesterol, or simply enter "cholesterol" in the yahoo search engine. If you are above a certain age, checking your cholesterol level regularly is a good idea

Not necessarily. Maybe you should see a doctor. Maybe you just have an irregular heart beat. My mom has that and her chest hurts too.
2 :
Everyone who is anxious and stress experiences pain anywhere in the body , and the stress causes the muscles to tighten up , thus the experiencing of the sharp pain in the center of your chest. But also how old are you ? And have you completed your medical tests ? Please let us know.
3 :
The first thing I can tell you is to GO TO THE DOCTOR as soon as you possibly can. Don't rely on people who are not a certified doctor for your answer. You say you experience this sharp pain at the center of your chest when your anxious and stressful. Do you have a history of anxiety attacks? My sister suffers from anxiety attacks, she describes the feeling of having a heart attack when she goes through one. Stress and Anxiousness can cause stress related heart problems. Please seek professional medical advice as soon as possible.

A sharp pain in the center of your chest can be caused by acid reflux. This condition is aggravated by constant stress. Acid that splashes back up into your throat can cause your esophagus to spasm resulting in a sharp pain. The effect is as if someone has reached inside your chest and is squeezing real hard. If an antacid or drinking a cool glass of water temporarily relieves the pain then you know what it is. GERD, gastroesphageal reflux disease or simply a real bad case of heartburn. (which of course has nothing to do with the heart) Since your ECG tested normal then there is a good chance this is what your problem is. You may need treatment for it, so time to make an appointment with an otolaryngologist. (ear, nose and throat specialist
