Why do women's health issues get so much more attention than men's? Ex. Breast Cancer, Heart Disease?
Corporations use issues such as Breast Cancer Awareness and Heart Disease for Marketing campaigns and the public falls for it. Do men and children not get sick? What is awareness..how does that DO anything.

well breast cancer ummm becuase it doesnt happen to men, so obviously this issue would get alot of attention in the womans category

I originally thought this as well, but it turns out that until the the 1990's, womens health issues didn't get much press. This is why in many of the commercials facts about diseases are compared to that of mens. This recent surge is fairly new and it seems as though the media as well as corporations have discovered a new market.

I think its part of the unspoken American culture in denial to not talk about men's health issues as much as women's. Men still have this mocheasmo that keeps them from accepting such health problems. I do think the trend is starting to fade though. And on the flip side while health issues like prostate or testicalur cancer do not get as much publicity as women health issues - ads about male enhancement and preventing baldness are huge.

Men and children can both get breast cancer, however it is very rare for children to get it. Men can also get heart disease. Breast cancer isn't something that companies use to make money they just promote awareness and the research is very important so yes it does "DO" something

that person who said men can not get breast cancer is an idiot
