He told me he thinks he has it. But he says western medician doctors will kill you. How can I convince him to go to the doctor.

You tell him how worried you are, and that you'll remain worried until he sees a doctor. He is probably afraid because he is afraid of what the doctor will say, so tell him you'll go with him for support. Also, if he doesn't believe in western medicine, he doesn't have to take any medications prescribed to him. You could get several opinions, then you could also look into natural medicines that could help.

Chances are that you will not be able to convince your father of something that he doesn't believe. Tell him that you are concerned about his health and only want him to find out if there is a problem. However, it is his body and his life. He is a grown man and has the right to decide for himself. Please respect his wishes.

you should go to the doctor yourself, or make a telephone appointment and talk to them, give all the problems he is having to them and see what they make of it, most nice doctors will give you the time, just make sure you mention all his conditions. good luck

Ask him for a list of symptoms (in a nice way). You can use the internet, and find which sicknesses/diseases have similar symptoms. Print out the results and show him OR show him directly on your computer. Then show him the what the procedures are (show him that they're safe/simple procedures done by experts OR tell him the statistics of survival if they're good.). If he know what he will face in a hospital then he will be more ready to accept going there. Also, if he doesn't go then at least tell him to get a "regular checkup". Or, if western medicine doctors won't work, then get one that doesn't look western but who is very knowledgeable about western med, u know...the type of doctor he "WOULD" go to. Good luck!

That's a tough one. My husband is going thru some scary stuff right now....he went for an angiogram and was diagnosed with constrictive pericarditis. If he thinks western doctors are not for him then ask him what kind of doctor he will go to. Perhaps even the docotor he sees can convince him to go to the right doctor. Good Luck.

I know how you feel because I went through the same thing with my father. Even to this day I still could not tell you why he did not seek help when he started to have problems. I think it was a combination of denial and trepidation and this was from a man who had shown great courage in his life. What ended up happening was that he suffered a massive heart attack and had to have major surgery. The good thing was that he recovered and had no major problems afterward. This may be the thing that will help you with your father, You could tell him that not going to a doctor, if he does have heart disease, will lead to three possible things. He could end up having a stroke in which he would for example, be unable to possibly walk or talk. He could die. But the third thing is that he would end up being treated by a doctor anyway, but for a more serious condition that could possibly have been treated by a less serious means, if he had seen a doctor earlier..I hope this helps and good luck
