I've never heard of Cranberry for heart disease, except that it may lower cholesterol: http://www.supermarketguru.com/page.cfm/1848 Since the fruit is fairly high in vitamin C, I can see where it would be good for gum disease and to assist in overall heath. It also keeps bacteria from sticking so would be good for the teeth and gums IF it had no sugar in it. See this article: http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/cranberry-000235.htm If I had gum disease, I would be using propylis and myrrh on my teeth, taking a HIGH vitamin C dose (about 3 grams a day of Ester-C), stop smoking or using caffeine. Also seek the help of a dental hygienist. If I had high cholesterol I would be using Milk Thistle Seed extract to cleanse my liver and taking apple pectin supplements and eating oat fiber
