Questions about Heart Disease, Please answer

Questions about Heart Disease, Please answer!?
I have a few questions for my research that I am not sure about. I am doing some research and no luck in finding the information I need. Please no websites, the last time I asked this question, people only gave websites and when i searched on the website there was nothing there that answered my questions. Here are my questions: 1. What causes Heart disease? 2. How do we prevent heart disease? 3. What are some support services that help people with Heart Disease?

1. Typically an environmental condition that corrupts the heart from a bad diet, but could be caused at any point in human development, being more rare than the former. Bad diets being from high sodium, high fats particularly from trans fats and other hydrogenated oils that clogs arteries. 2. Healthy diets, high in fiber and natural stuff like fruits and vegetables. Pretty much avoid fast food, chain food, and most processed foods that are high in everything from sodium to all the preservatives that are nearly toxic in themselves. 3. American Heart Association is number one with a website full of details, but your local doctor is probably your best advocate in diagnosing (high risk factors and high blood pressure) and preventing (recommending an excercise and diet program tailored for your condition).
2 :
You can find this information anywhere on the internet: Heart disease is caused by a combonation of a bad diet and family history of heart disease. Plaque builds up in the arteries and causes blockages of blood flow to the heart. Plaque is formed by cholesterol and fat we take from our diet but people are susceptable to a certain amount of build up because of weight and family history as well. Heart disease is prevented by having a healthy diet low in fat and cholesterol, controlling stress, and regularly performing aerboic exercise such as running and swimming. support service is the american heart association

Ok! The most common heart disease is coronary artery disease (CAD). I is also called coronary arteriosclerosis. CAD is caused by a build-up of plaque in the arteries to the heart muscle. The plaque is made up of cholesterol, calcium and other material found in human blood. The plaque sticks to the wall of the arteries and builds until it blocks or clogs the artery. Risk factors that aid in this process are: smoking; High amounts of certain fats and cholesterol in the blood ; High blood pressure; High amounts of sugar in the blood due to insulin resistance or diabetes. Prevention of heart disease should start in childhood. Teaching children proper diet and exercise programs is an effective means to encourage them to take care of themselves as the grow older, Proper diet and exercise along with weight managementl are primary to preventing heart disease. Other preventive measures include avoidance of high risk social behaviors like smoking and excessive consumption of alcohol. Also, being aware of our blood pressure and cholesterol levels and taking appropriate action when needed are essential to prevention. Following your doctors advice is crucial. Support services usually are after-care programs. These serve patients recovering from angioplasty, stint placement and Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery. Most are called Coronary Rehabilitation Programs and are offered at or by hospital and/or coronary care units. These programs normally focus on cardiovascular exercise programs. Some offer special instruction in disease monitoring, dietary and meal planning and weight management. A person who wishes to reduce their risk of developing heart disease has many options. Asking their doctor or hospital, public libraries, and the internet are great places to begin your search and develope a self education program. I hope this is what you were wanting. If I can be of more help just contact me. Terry

1. The most common heart disease is blockages of arteries. There is some plaque deposits that form, but the bigger problem, for me at least, is stress and chemicals that may cause damage to artery linings, which then spit open part way. The body tries to repart it, and in doing so makes the whole thing worse, with an ever widening split and bulge of the lining. 2. Lower stress if possible, more happiness. More natural foods, less fatty foods, more high anti-oxidant foods periodically throughout the day. Regular exercise that gets the heart rate noticeably elevated for at least an hour a day. Avoid people and things that raise your blood pressure. For young people, that could be bad diet, smoking, drugs, but even video games and action movies that may raise your adrenaline level for extended periods that affects your blood pressure. 3. Your health care provider. Once you have a serious problem, they don't want to spend the money again, so they check on you regularly. AHA and other groups are there if you have questions, but you have to go find them. I have very serious heart disease, and there have been no groups outside my HMO that have contacted me in 26 months.

Do you know of any real evidence that fast food leads to heart disease

Do you know of any real evidence that fast food leads to heart disease?

Fast food can make people fat because of the calorie count. It also contains high amounts of sodium and saturated fat which contribute to heart disease. Of course, the person has to actually eat it so it's the person's fault, not the food.
2 :
watch Super Size Me it is horrifying what it did to him in one month
3 :
Yeah the film super size me by that guy morgan well he went to the doctor for it and they explained it thoroughly.
4 :
Researches have proved that the oil used in making fast food is high in cholesterol and some spices are also responsible for agitated blood pressure
5 :
There's plenty of studies that a diet high in calories, high in sodium, and high bad fats and cholesterol lead to heart disease. There is nothing inherent about the speed of the food you are getting, but if you look up the nutritional information of most fast food, it's hard to find menu items that don't fall into these categories.
6 :
actors are the perfectd example the best way to go about heart food problems is lard little lard blah
7 :
No, because we can never completely rule out other high risk factors such as chronic stress. Or we can never completely rule out that accumulation of poisons in our system, say from dozens of vaccinations, medications, pesticides on fruit/veges, chemicals in our drink water, polutants in the air etc, etc isn't one of the causes.
8 :
Oh yeah. Doesn't even bother going to the stomach, heads straight to the heart. There's a potential heart attack in every bite. But I can't help myself. When GIs return from overseas they ussually said the first thing they wanted to do when getting back was go to McDonalds. I was one of them and I know it to be true.

Acute infection (endocarditis), sometimes as a result of an abcess of a tooth, is however still a common cause of valve disease. Bacteria can destroy the valve in as little as a week.
2 :
Rheumatic fever which is now quite rare in the U.S. has a history of starting a staff infection and destroying the heart valves.
3 :
Direct problems with the heart secondary to dental infection are rare. However those patients with damaged hearts are at risk from the systemic spread of infection, usually streptococcus to the already damaged heart

Diabetes, Heart Disease and Respiratory Issues - Best meals

Diabetes, Heart Disease and Respiratory Issues - Best meals?
My father is on a mission to lose some 50lbs after getting out of the hospital. He has type 2 diabetes and just had a heart attack. He also has respiratory issues - trouble breathing, and low oxygen. He is trying Seattle Sutton's but the amount of sugars in their meal plans are double the USDA recommendations, let alone (he is diabetic.) Are there any links to meal ideas and recipes - recommended diet plan? Balancing ALL THREE health issues simultaneously is obviously very difficult.

Your father should be eating LOTS of veggies and fruits, make sure they are FRESH and not canned or processed. Here is a link to the American Diabetes website, you can find out lots of information there and get good recipes there. http://www.diabetes.org/nutrition-and-recipes/nutrition/overview.jsp
2 :
It can be difficult, but using the Atkins idea ( high protein, very little carbohydrate) with a low fat attitude can be a great solution. For example: even though bacon and sausage would be allowed on the Atkins diet they would not be allowed on a low fat diet. So basically a person eats low fat protein i.e chicken, turkey and fish ( some others) with high vegetable sides. Very little to no fruit because of the high carbs and no starchy veggies like potatoes. A typical meal could be baked chicken with broccoli ( little butter) and cole slaw ( lite dressing). Read up on it. Add Vitamin E to increase oxygen utilization

Is it possible for the heart to simply stop, without disease, thus killing someone who is exerting no strain

Is it possible for the heart to simply stop, without disease, thus killing someone who is exerting no strain?
I was talking to a friend who claims to know of someone who was standing around before band practice talking to his mates, and he stopped mid-sentence, complained about feeling ill, keeled over and died. The cause, according to this friend of mine, was simply that his heart had stopped, not caused by disease, poisoning etc., it just simply stopped beating, as if it had run its course for this man's life. I'm wondering, is this medically possible?

For various reasons, some persons develop a sudden, fatal arrhythmia called ventricular fibrillation. The heart muscles do not contract in concert, and the patient dies. It is difficult to determine the reason for this on post-mortem exam.
2 :
it is not only possible it is happening with alarming frequency, it is called sudden cardiac arrest. No two cases have been found to have a commonality thus far.
3 :
It is called Sudden Cardiac Death, and now it is becoming more common in the US with around 300,000 suddenly dying from it. This problem ends your life with a cessation of heartbeat due to a rhythm abnormality known as Ventricular Fibrillation, where the electrical pattern of the heart is disrupted, causing the muscles to quiver instead of beat. There are usually causes of SCD, but sometimes, the heart just may lose rhythm for unknown reasons. The most common causes of SCD are: cardiomyopathy, LVH, RVH, ARVD and Long QT Syndrome. The latter usually goes unseen until SCD occurs. Cardiomyopathy, LVH, RVH and ARVD can be detected with a cardiothoracic echocardiogram and many doctors can recognize it in an instant, however, only an ECG can determine whether a person has LQTS, and usually doctors don't screen for this in a routine ECG.
4 :
Yes it is!
