heart disease is caused by plaque build up that ruins the arterial cardiac muscle causing multiple sclerosis that leads to the hardening of the coronary arteries. venules may also be affected by the blocking of the veins leading back to the heart through damage to the vessel walls. this is caused by cholesterol build up that blocks usually the inferior vena cava the right atrioventricular valve ( or tricuspid) is frequently damaged causing arterial damage throughout the heart. this makes the use of coronary artery surgery necessary. a coronary surgery consists of removing arteries from the legs ( not veins because veins aren't strong enough) and replacing them with the coronary arteries within the outer heart

none rheumatic heart disease is an autoimmune disease , so neither of these people is most likely to have it than others
2 :
Rheumatic heart disease is a condition in which the heart valves are damaged by rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever begins with a strep throat (also called strep pharyngitis). Strep throat is caused by Group A Streptococcusbacteria. It is the most common bacterial infection of the throat. Rheumatic fever is an inflammatory disease. It can affect many of the body's connective tissues รข€” especially those of the heart, joints, brain or skin. Anyone can get acute rheumatic fever, but it usually occurs in children five to 15 years old. The rheumatic heart disease that results can last for life. Answer: (d) none.
3 :
Rheumatic heart disease occurs in some people who gets a rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever occurs in some people (mostly children and young people) after a streptococcal infection of the throat. So theoretically any activity which causes increased incidence of throat infection in people have more chance of having rheumatic heart disease. So in case of your hypothetical question the answer may be swimmer as he has more chance of getting throat infection which may lead to rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease.
4 :
both a and b
5 :
d. a. is an old wives tale

Does an Asprin a day really reduce the risk of Heart Disease

Does an Asprin a day really reduce the risk of Heart Disease?

Yep. And not even a "whole" aspirin. All that's needed is a "baby" aspirin. But check with your doc first.
2 :
yes it does if you are succesptible to a heart attack
3 :
my father has serious heart problems and he takes 1 asprin everyday, asprin is sometimes used as a blood thinner
4 :
i always heard that if you take it during a mild heart attack, it can help you survive. i see no harm in taking it everyday, but you will also get used to it and build up a tolerance.. which means next time you have a headache, you will just have to deal with it.
5 :
Yes, it thins the blood, helping it to flow more easily past plaque and other build up in the blood vessels.
6 :
Yes, aspirin prevents the blood from clotting (ie clumping together). A heart attack is when a clot (clump) gets stuck in the heart and the blood cannot be pumped out efficiently. 2 baby aspirin a day are recommended for people 50 and over.
7 :
THAT'S WHAT I HEAR
8 :
I think so and reduces the odds of cancer
9 :
thats a lie only eating healthy and natural like back in god's time will reduce the risk of heart dieseas
10 :
I've heard it does, but check with your doctor on whether that would be good for you or not. Some people's stomaches cannot handle it. It's especially helpful in the event of a heart attack. BC powders saved a friend of mine.
11 :
YES....81mg.....EVERY DAY!!!
12 :
No. Eat more tomatoes. They widen your blood vessels and really decrease risk of heart illnesses.
13 :
May be ! But its not good for your body for long time You can have more problem from Asprin.
14 :
anything not more than 84mg otherwise unwanted complications of hyperuricemia (gout arthritis) may develop over the long run.
15 :
yes my ex husband has heart disease due to a genetic condition called hyperhomocysteinaemia he had a triple heart bypass aged 30.after the op he was told to take a 400mg asprin every day.that was 13 years ago.he is definately still here coz of the asprin.his disease clogs up you arteries at an amazing rate.he gets tested every year and his levels are still down.if he didn't take asprin he wouldn't be here now
16 :
yah, thats what i heard, and my father doctor adviced him to drink, but the baby aspirin.
17 :
i take asprin daily because i had a heart attack when i was 21yrs old then at 40yrs, i was advised by my doctor to take them with other medication he has given me for the heart problem. always check with your doctor first because some people can't take it. hope that help
18 :
Aspirin is a great blood thinner and so are apples, hence, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Aspirin therapy should be regulated by your doctor. You should ask a good doctor after you ask on here.
19 :
Talk with your doctor. It doesn't reduce the risk of "heart disease" per se. It reduces the chances of your blood clotting and thus can reduce the chance of having a heart attack. But this comes at a cost of a slightly increased risk of bleeding---for instance, bleeding into the gut, into a bruise or even into the head, the latter of which is called a stroke, which can be serious. In some people, an aspirin a day is a good thing. But in some people, the risks outweigh the benefits, and only a doctor who knows the patient should give advice on this matter.
20 :
aspiris is a bloodthiner which is prescribed to pts whom have had a heart attack or who have a history of cardiac issues. yes its very beneficial aspirin is also classified as an analgesic, antipyretic( help lower fever )anti-immflammatory bloodthiner.its very helpfull and does reduce the reoccurence of heart disease cause it helps to prevent clotts.
21 :
The best safest and natural way is to supplement with glyconutrients. here are some informative websites. http://www.glycoresource.com http://www.mannapages.com/foryourlife http://www.glycostory.com
22 :
For men it reduces the risk of a heart attack, not heart disease. Recent studies indicate that it doesn't do the same thing for women. An aspirin a day for women helps reduce their stroke risk. My husband takes an aspirin a day and Plavix. Aspirin helps prevent the formation of clots

In what part(s) of the world is congenital heart disease most common

In what part(s) of the world is congenital heart disease most common?
Either actual places or just like 'developed countries' or 'places where...'

Congenital Heart Defects usually don't have an environmental trigger. It doesn't matter what a mother to be does to keep herself healthy... by the time she learns she's pregnant, the heart has already formed. (EXCEPTION: Certain defects *might* occur due to bad genetics. They're still doing research on it.) The key number is 1/125. One out of every 125 live births, on average, will have a heart defect. There doesn't even seem to be a gender/race that is more likely to have a defect. (African Americans are more liable to have Sickle Cell Anemia, but that is NOT considered a heart defect) A child born in a medically advanced country has the best odds of survival, of course; but you'd be surprised at which countries those are. The USA, Canada, and most of Europe qualify; but so does South Africa and India. South Africa was where the first heart transplant occurred, in 1968. A lot of Indian students come to the US to become doctors; some stay once their residency is completed but just as many go home. Because of this, medical care in India is improving all the time

Is there truly away to reverse heart disease

Is there truly away to reverse heart disease?

Very slow, very gradual exercise. It can take weeks to make improvements. Drink that pomegranate juice. About 10 times as many anti-oxidnants than almost any other food.
2 :
If the damage is severe I don't think your heart will mend its self completely but I believe you can reverse heart disease. It's not easy and takes a lot of commitment and life style changes. I would recommend first improving your diet. Nearly every disease can be cured with good wholesome foods. Eat lots of veggies, fruits, whole grains, nuts and beans. Meat is fine to eat as well but you need to make sure the afore mentioned foods make the bulk of your menu. You will need to avoid processed foods, deep fried foods, sugary foods particularly anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup. Also no artificial sugars (such as those found in diet drinks and "sugar free" stuff). If you can stay away from artificial colors and preservatives too that would be great. Small amounts of natural sugars and honey should be fine if you are very careful not to over indulge. Also fat in your diet is important. Your heart and brain need certain kinds of fat to function properly. Good oils are natural unrefined oils such as olive, hemp, coconut, flax, etc. Bad oils include most importantly anything that says hydrogenated, partially hydrogenated or brominated oil. Also avoid canola and cottonseed oil. After you get the hang of your diet change start working out. As I said this would be difficult but it would get easier over time and you would never ever regret it. I hope this helps.

Unpopular opinion is yes! The body wants to survive. It knows what's wrong......if you give it the proper tools it will try and heal itself. Therein lies the million dollar question...."what tools or what do I do?" There is no simple answer. No one (or many) pill(s) to take. There are just too many variables. Go to this web site and listen to a number of doctors discuss the many benefits of a truly helpful product (you'll need speakers or a headset). Remember, heart disease is an inflammation

are you looking for life insurance or health insurance?
2 :
nope, pre-existing condition, even if he does fina na insurance policy i bet it will be 1,000 per month with a heart cfondition.
3 :
Health or life? You didn't clarify. Assurant Health has a "Key Med" policy that will cover him with heart disease if he has not had a stent placed in his heart. The only thing I know of that would prevent him from qualifying for the Key Med plan is a heart stent. Life insurance is a different matter. Stonebridge Life offers a policy up to 249,999.00 with no medical conditions considered.
4 :
The only way he could get health insurance is if he owned a company and had either a business partner or at least one employee. That way he could get insurance with pre existing conditions, otherwise, he can't get individual.
5 :
If you are asking about health insurance, then I would suggest you try to get him enrolled in Medicare. Due to his age and condition, he may be eligible. He may have to claim disability, but it would be well worth it. Go to medicare.com to get more info, and make an appointment at your local social security office. While you are waiting for the appointment, have him get a letter from his doctor stating the severity of his condition, and gather any and all medical records any hospital visits. It will greatly speed things along if you have the records before the evaluation. But do remember that even with Medicare, they pay 80%, so be prepared for the 20% copays (this is for outpatient visits, inpatient is a flat deductible of around $1200 for the entire stay). I would suggest supplemental insurance to cover this, but with his condition, it may cost you more to pay the premiums than the actual copays. Good Luck.
6 :
Are you talking life or health? Life is going to be VERY expensive, and health, well, you're not going to get that heart disease covered, under a private policy - likely no one will take him at ALL. Best bet is for him to get on a group plan through his employer - or his wife's

Heart Disease in African american women

Heart Disease in African american women?
Does anyone know if there is an ancestral link Between slaves and heart disease. I remember An episode on the oprah winfrey show called "The Number One Killer of Women Revealed". Dr. Oz mentioned something about it, but i can't find a way to watch a clip of the episode. I swear I heard him say something. And also is coronary heart disease the most common for black women and white women, or just women in general? I'm trying to do a research paper on it and I can't remember for the life of me what Dr. Oz said
