It dosent seem to good..im really sorry i dont know what to say without feeling bad
2 :
you are a walking time bomb and you are only 14? that is sad you shouldn't' have this problem for long long time.
3 :
No one in here can tell you that. You need to be undera doctor's care for the high blood pressure. A doctor can also help you develope an eating plan to loose weight. Good Luck
4 :
yes 100 percent if you don't already have it. you should do something immediately. start off by cutting out the fatty foods, especially fried. and start walking 5 times a day and drinking plenty of water. this will give you energy. you take care of yourself while you're still young. i want you to be in this world as long as you possibly can be
5 :
im 110% sure that if you dont get it REALLY soon, then you already have it. my dad weighs less than you, and he's only 40....
6 :
risk? you've already got it. time to change your lifestyle and lower those percentages. 14 is a real, REAL good time to start.. get to a doctor.. have them check out up and down and all around and begin anew. not kidding on this, trust me. it's not going to get any better.. so stop while you're ahead and at least give yourself better odds and a less painful future. not just for yourself but those around you too.
7 :
look your 14 It's not to late to change your life style and if you start doing it now you might not ever get heart disease. but if you keep on the path your on then my dear your heading for a lot of problems down the road. take care
8 :
At this time, you risk is 100 percent, however with a good diet and exercise along with cutting out bad habits (smoking, etc.) your risk can be lowered dramaticaly. Please get help with this.
9 :
If you are over weight & have high blood pressure you are at risk of heart Disease. To be honest you should lose the Weight, This in return will lower your Blood Pressure. You should also see if you have High Cholesterol as well. If so, losing weight & Excessive should lower it as well.
10 :
You need to lose 50 pounds.

Question about high blood pressure and heart disease

Question about high blood pressure and heart disease?
My daughter is 2. When I was pregnant, i developed high bloodpressure. It never went away and sometimes it is very high. I am 22 years old. My doctor never perscribed me any pills to take. i have heard high blood pressure causes heart disease...will it always cause heart disease? does this happen very quickly? i have just started a diet where I am cutting out salt and trying to lose weight and eat healthy. if i get my bloodpressure under control, will my heart heal, or has too much damage been done? im scared :(

Your information is correct; high blood pressure does cause heart disease. The heart is working harder to supply your body with its blood demands. This extra work over time will cause heart problems. While it often causes heart disease, high blood pressure can easily be managed and lowered. You are already taking good steps to lowering your blood pressure. A reduced sodium diet will help, but also exercise is also very good for your heart. If these methods do not help lower your blood pressure, discuss medications for hypertension with your doctor. You are still very young, so there hasn't been a lot of time for you to do much damage. Many people have high blood pressure for 10-20 years before seeing heart problems. If you intervene now, you risk for heart failure should be dramatically decreased.
2 :
its early....can be reversed......hypertension causes left ventricle enlargement and hardenning..........but,takes years.................may need meds eventually though...........................

How does a dog get heart worm disease

How does a dog get heart worm disease?
What are the symptoms, will they die from it?
Dogs - 10 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
From mosquito bites, no real symptoms until they are so bad the dogs heart is eaten up with them and it has to be put to sleep.
2 :
very bad take to vet.
3 :
eventually the dog will suffer and die from it their VERY hard to get rid of.symptoms include vomiting lose of activity in things.weight lose. if you think your dog may have them take them to the vet asap
4 :
Dogs get heartworm when they are bitten by an infected mosquito. The larve travels to the heart where they multiply. If left untreated they will take over the whole heart until the dog dies. Treatment is possible but it is very aggressive and could kill the dog. In the case of heartworms the old saying applies that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".
5 :
As many as 30 species of mosquitoes can transmit heartworms. The female mosquito bites the infected dog and ingests the microfilariae during a blood meal. The microfilariae develop further for 10 to 30 days in the mosquito and then enter the mouthparts of the mosquito. The microfilariae are now called infective larvae because at this stage of development, they will grow to adulthood when they enter a dog. The mosquito usually bites the dog where the hair coat is thinnest. However, having long hair does not prevent a dog from getting heartworms. When fully developed, the infective larvae enter the bloodstream and move to the heart and adjacent vessels where they grow to maturity in two to three months and start reproducing, thereby completing the full life cycle The most obvious signs are a soft, dry cough, shortness of breath, weakness, nervousness, listlessness, and loss of stamina. All of these signs are most noticeable following exercise, when some dogs may even faint. If the dog is not treated, they can die from having been infected with heartworms. A simple bloodtest will tell you if your dog has been infected with heartworms. If the test comes out positive, your vet will discuss with you the treatment options available. There is also risks involved with the heartworm treatments. You should keep your dog on a heartworm preventative year round as well as have them tested every year.
6 :
Mosquito's! Have your vet test the dog. If you put the animal on a preventative medication, and it's already infected,it will kill the dog! Good luck! ;-)=
7 :
By being bitten by a mosquito that has also bitten an infected animal. Often there are no symptoms until the problem has become critical. This is why dogs need to have a test to diagnose it. Yes it can become fatal.
8 :
it is caused by mosquito larvae. the only way to know is take to the vets and have a blood sample done and then get heart worm preventative. they will die if they have and not treated the worms attach to the heart and eat the heart. so go to the vet and have the dog checked.
9 :
Heart worm is transmitted by mosquitoes. There are often no symptoms until the problem is pretty far advanced, but a dog with heartworm will sometimes be short of breath and less energetic than usual, and will cough. It's fatal if it isn't treated. As the worms mature they clog the heart and prevent the blood from circulating. Once the dog is infected the treatment is pretty arduous; your best bet is to prevent heartworm in the first place by giving a medication every month. There are several different medications, and some breeds of dog are sensitive to the ingredient in one of them, so ask your vet.
10 :
YES! Heartworms WILL kill your dog! Heartworms come from an infected mosquito which bites your dog or CAT; yes, cats get heartworms also, but it is rare. A cat will not have symptoms. They will just drop dead -- literally. A dog will have symptoms. For example, a dog will foam at the mouth when exerting themselves, and won't have much stamina, and will be lethargic. It can be treated, BUT, the best medicine, of course, is prevention. Each spring, your vet can perform a simple blood test to determine if your dog does or does not have heartworms. If no, you should give your dog a once-per-month prevention. My dogs take Heartguard. It should be administered once per month until the first hard frost. Heartguard also eliminates ascarid and hookworms. Cats should receive Revolution once per month. It is a liquid applied to the nap of their neck. It protects them from heartworms as well as fleas, hookworms, roundworms, and ear mites. Don't forget Advantix or Frontline for your dogs

What connection between heart disease and poverty

What connection between heart disease and poverty?

Probably stress and diet...
2 :
poor nutrition, fatigue, elevated blood pressure due to stress.
3 :
In india like country most of the people who living under poverty level they are keeping the habit of smoking,Chewing toboco,Bawn, etc that also the risk factor of heart attack.Further hereditary fact and stress also contributing the deadly illness.
4 :
Poverty in childhood has long-term negative health effects. Those who were born into poor families smoke or drink as someone who did not complete high school and went on to find employment in manual blue-collar occupations. Poverty is a greater predictor of heart disease than risk factors such as smoking, obesity, stress, or blood cholesterol concentrations. * Rheumatic fever is common worldwide and is responsible for many cases of damaged heart valves. It is common in developing countries and not common in the United States. Rheumatic heart disease affects children and young people living in conditions of poverty, poor sanitation and overcrowding. * Poor people can not afford for congenital heart repair surgeries for their ailing children due to huge hospital charges.(For example: War-torn countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine.) * People who are at higher risk for obesity include lower income groups. Obesity is a risk factor for hypertension, diabetes and heart diseases.

Low socioeconomic status is a known risk factor for cardiovascular disease. It is related to poor access to health care, dietary habits, stress, and lack of preventative care. Lower socioeconomic status is also associated with worse outcomes for health issues, such as cardiovascular disease. What are some productive things that feminists are spending time on today? Human trafficking, heart disease..

What are some productive things that feminists are spending time on today? Human trafficking, heart disease...?
...? I see a lot of feminists and anti-feminists (including me, at times) wasting time on this forum discussing relatively pointless subjects. I'm of the opinion that the most important 2 things that feminists in the west can spend time/energy on are increasing self-knowledge and self-esteem. Horrible condescension, I know. Enlighten me to some other fruitful ways for feminists in the west to spend time and energy.

Accepting they have equality and getting on with their lives.
2 :
One of them here does good and dangerous work in the third world. Not sure about the rest. Emily, looking at todays posts they are doing anything but that. One form of bigotry is much the same as another, just because it is deemed PC doesnt make it ok.
3 :
They could concentrate on helping children. Instead of bashing one gender over child abuse, domestic violence, they could actually tell the truth 100% of the time and help everyone. Im not going to hold my breath though.
4 :
They can teach their children not to be bigots, condescending, prejudiced or biased. They can teach their children to respect others, regardless of sex, religion or colour. They can stand up against unfairness, they can expose bigotry. there's a lot that feminists can do today. And I'm off to work, to help the aged and ill.
5 :
Feminism is a state of mind, not a state of being or doing. I suggest you not do anything *as a feminist.* Just be a good person and do good stuff. That you are feminist is for you, not them. It is an individual thing, not a dogma. If you are speaking specifically of advancing a feminist cause, then I suggest taking a Taoist approach to life. The feminism will follow as a byproduct and will become part of the ideology of the world your actions help to create.
6 :
I would say the best thing they can do is spend time fixing the damage feminism has caused. They could open their eyes and so that there movement is not generating equality and has not for 40 years or so. They really need to examine their movement from the top down if they do that then they can fix what has gone wrong. Telling the radicals at N.O.W. to shut up would be a good start for them. If they countered to bias that feminism has caused a lot of the stress between the genders would go away. Men might quit looking for brides over seas. Divorce rates would go down as well I think as fewer women would feel less entitlement to have a fairy tale life. There is much they can do for equality and gender relations but most of it comes from fixing the damage the movement has caused to families and the biases against men.
7 :
Equality has been achieved in the west. Issues like the wage-gap have been proven beyond doubt to be linked with the diversity of choices rather than to Gender. There isn't an area in real life where women are disadvantaged because of their gender. Therefore, the conclusion that Feminism is redundant in the West, makes their presence threatened. There are some Feminists who actually take time out to help the disadvantaged in third-world countries, but they are few and far between.
8 :
This feminist in the west spends her time and energy raising a family. Sounds very traditional, doesn't it? Everything else takes a back-burner..
9 :
Getting ready for the first day of classes so I can make sure we are on track for the semester.
10 :
Yep, what Bob J said, I'm accepting I have equality and getting on with my life. But admittedly wasting time, but so is everyone on this site.
11 :
I'm a director of a womens center that helps abuse victims get their lives back to gether. We spend 0 time bashing men or skewing statistics. We set them up with education, parenting skills, financial literacy, councelling (yes we address self esteem issues if needed) and jobs. Usually the services are used by women with children so we make sure kids can grow up without witnessing violence and abuse, without having to live in poverty.
12 :
I spend part of my day running an agency that provides support to children/adults with Autism. I spend the other part being a good parent to my awesome daughter and a good wife to my fabulous husband. I think these are all worthwhile
13 :
Shopping for and cooking dinner. Reading science and news. Answering questions on this site (not just in this category).
14 :
I waste way too much time here lately. Have been wasting lots of time for about 2 months now, part of dealing with some heavy stuff...I need much distraction with frivolousness. It happens, just a phase, I'll be out of it and back into spending much more of my time productively vs. just pissing it away =o)

Does anyone know of any recent denial cases for social security disability relating to heart disease

Does anyone know of any recent denial cases for social security disability relating to heart disease?
I have applied for social security disablity in November and they have until March 30th to state an answer either way. I was just wondering if anyone knew of anyone with good news or bad news relating to acceptance or denial of the claim. I have hypertension, aortic stenosis, bicuspid aortic valve, peripheal edema and tachycardia. I have seen the same cardiologist for twelve years since I was 18. Thanks.

Appeal the case!!

I have a brother who was in Baylor University Hospital in Dallas, Texas about 5 years ago. ..He'd gotten a really bad viral infection in his heart/lungs, and his heart ended up becoming very enlarged/deformed as a result. He was in the Baylor University Hospital because he needed to get a heart transplant. ...Long story short: it was decided he didn't qualify for medical help because he'd worked really hard and had put in TOO much money into Social Security! ...Yes, you read correctly! He was actually on the transplant list and hooked up to IVs, etc. ...The nurses came in, took out the IVs, and no one explained why. ....Shortly thereafter, a social worker came in to explain my brother was basically being sent home to die. That tough s.o.b. is still alive, despite what happened. SSI WAS eventually given, but they still denied the transplant. ....The Social Security office told my brother he was being cut off, so he recently went back to work in the oil fields...huffing and puffing ...(and I think he'll die of heart failure out in the field). I hope, for you, SSI will come through. Best of everything!
3 :
It's entirely possible that they will deny your claim. If they do, appeal it as many times as it takes for them to approve you. If you do, then when you are approved they have to pay you retroactive to the date you first applied. A lot of times, social security denies claims to weed people out. They only want those who have serious problems to be granted the money, so they make it very difficult. Sadly, I know people who are really capable of work who have been granted social security because they were stubborn enough to appeal their cases, and people who really need it, but have given up. I wish you the best of luck with your claim

Any recent studies or research involving heart disease?
For my assignment the teacher asked us to respond to this question: Current event: is there any current research or new information about it. If somebody can give me a good source of information that answers this question well(meaning it is something new and interesting), they'll get 10 points. Peace

My father had 4 by-passes done at the age of 62. He is 75 now and his heart is in much better condition that it was 13 years ago. I have the test results to prove it.....but I'll give the devil his due.....he totally changed his diet. very low fat, 12 servings of fruits and veggies a day (yeah, you read that right), high fiber, whole grains, excercises (walks several miles a day no matter the weather)....his blood pressure has returned to normal (ok, well he does take 1/4 of dose of a beta blocker) and his total cholesterol is 137.....without meds So yes, it can be done - he had some severe atherosclerosis and arteriosclerosis.....but - its a big but - most people aren't willing to do what he did....[and then again, there are some conditions where there is scarring of the heart, or damage to the valves that are irreversible - but for athero-and-arterisclerosis, yes, its possible)

Just as there are laws in the physical, (the world we see), that say a one hundred thousand ton aircraft carrier can float or a one hundred ton jet can fly, but only with the proper knowledge, there are also laws in the spiritual, (the world we don't see), that a person can use to eliminate Aids, MS, malaria, heart disease, cancer, blindness...etc. from their body. http://www.sheep2lion.com/ will help you obtain the knowledge about those laws and more.

Yes, the heart disease can be cured. You need to help your body do the the healing, as the body does body maintenance all the time. For heart disease do these exercises everyday. You will see the benefits within weeks as you start to feel generally healthy and the next test will show an improvement.Keep a check on your BP. Continue the exercise once a day, after you are better. Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute. Anulom Vilom – Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril then -keeping the left nostril closed deep breath-in through right nostril then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril. This is one cycle of anulom vilom. Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day). You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed. Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently. Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee. Duration : 5 to 15 times Do it and reap the benefits.
