My hubby had a heart attack a month ago so I feel your pain. I did find that if I put a bit of balsamic vinaigrette on them at the table, they are a little more palatable.

ohhh I had the same dilemma with my hubby - I turned to the spice aisle in the grocery and found a wide variety of neat things - so I started trying out all sorts of stuff - I ended up really liking Mrs. Dash's products - seems like there is a spice for everything with Mrs. Dash! No salt and it's heart healthy and adds wonderful flavor!!! Along with Smart Balance (check out the ingredients on this brand - it was recommended by the hubby's heart doctor) butter mixed in to the veggies - you have a great combination!!! I hope this helps!

do you have a steamer? you can put cilantro or any other herb in the water to add flavor while steaming. if you don't have a steamer, you should get one, it gives you many healthy ideas and is great for making fresh veggies instead of buying frozen, but also great for frozen.
4 :
Warm them with a chicken broth and garlic. Or add lemon pepper.

There are frozen veggies that come in steamer bags that taste absolutely amazing. Trust me: i really don't like vegtables, but the ones that come in the steam bags I LOVE. Specially the corn and carrots. yummm! ♥ answer mine please? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Am0PUtIweK_RhaYMwv1MHgTsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091111175233AAWV9fL
6 :
Cook them with olive oil and lots of garlic. Olive oil is a heart healthy fat and garlic goes well with it

Way more of Heart disease. Breast cancer is curable in about 90% of cases these days.
4 :
I must comment, that many women who have breast cancer suffer heart disease through complications of metastatic breast cancer. My mom in law just died from stage 4 breast cancer, and she had "water on the heart" when she died.

KEY FACTS * CVDs are the number one cause of death globally: more people die annually from CVDs than from any other cause. * An estimated 17.1 million people died from CVDs in 2004, representing 29%of all global deaths. Of these deaths, an estimated 7.2 million were due to coronary heart disease and 5.7 million were due to stroke. * Low- and middle-income countries are disproportionally affected: 82% of CVD deaths take place in low- and middle-income countries and occur almost equally in men and women. * By 2030, almost 23.6 million people will die from CVDs, mainly from heart disease and stroke. These are projected to remain the single leading causes of death. The largest percentage increase will occur in the Eastern Mediterranean Region. The largest increase in number of deaths will occur in the South-East Asia Region. Claimed 831,272 lives in 2006 (final mortality) (34.3 percent of all deaths or 1 of every 2.9 deaths).[www.americanheart.org] Incidence — 1,255,000 new and recurrent coronary attacks per year. (National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's Atherosclerotic Risk in Communities [ARIC] Study and Cardiovascular Health Study (CHS). Nearly 37 percent of all female deaths in America occur from CVD, which includes coronary heart disease (CHD), stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.
