carbohydrates are a form of energy that does not stick to the walls of your arteries. proteins do not either. the third and last energy source, Fats (lipides) can stick to your arteries, causing clots, that eventually shoot into the heart or the brain and can cause severe damage. eating a lot of carbohydrates will mean you need less fat to get the enrgy you need, thus reduces the risk that fat will build up in your arteries

16 million people in the US have coronary heart disease . More than 500,000 people in the US die from coronary heart disease each year. In Britain it it responsible for 1 in 4 deaths. More than half a million WOMEN die of cardiovascular diseases each year, there are about 60,000 deaths from breast cancer annually, compared to 500,000 deaths from cardiovascular disease. About 2,400 to 2,600 people die every day of cardiovascular disease. These are just some of the figures I found. heart disease can be caused by genetics and by environmental factors explain what this statement means

heart disease can be caused by genetics and by environmental factors explain what this statement means?
what does this statement mean?
Heart Diseases - 5 Answers

1 :
Genetics simply mean its in your Genes aka it runs in the family. Environmental factor means the everyday things such as medication, polluted air, salty foods that raise your blood pressure, smoking, and dehydration due to heat. MUAH
2 :
The "genetic cause" is a family tendency towards heart disease. All it means is that someone might have a higher risk of heart disease because one or both parents, or their parents, or their grand parents had heart disease and the risk is carried through to the younger generations. Environmental factors include air pollution, second hand cigarette smoke, dust from factories carried in the air and then breathed in; things like that.
3 :
* Family history of coronary artery disease (genetic or hereditary factors) * Smoking * Rheumatic fever * Diabetes * hypertension * Chronic kidney disease * Unhealthy cholesterol levels, especially high LDL ("bad") cholesterol and low HDL ("good") cholesterol * Stress and strains. * Sedentary occupation and lack of exercise.
4 :
Your homework is NOT our homework and you will gain little educational advantage from cutting and pasting answers from those that merely cut and past themselves.
5 :
also cocaine and steroids can cause this

Imagine you have a million dollars to donate to heart disease research

Imagine you have a million dollars to donate to heart disease research.?
would u rather fund a research team that's working to prevent human heart transplant rejection ,or a team that's developing artificial human hearts?

1 :
Artificial. Even if you keep the human heart transplant operating it will eventually wear out. An artificial heart wouldn't.
2 :
The second one. Some day the artificial ones may even be an improvement over the real ones.
3 :
A team that is developing artificial hearts.
4 :
i would prefer to fund a research team that is working to prevent heart transplant rejection. because i had a heart transplant almost 2 years ago and i take at least 30 tablets a day and i am only 22 years old. i find that being able to prevent rejection is more of a successful outcome because an artificial heart with still have complications

Do you think that someone with anxiety/panic disorder develop heart disease

Do you think that someone with anxiety/panic disorder develop heart disease?
I was just wondering because I have this disorder although I have been checked out and am totally fine.

1 :
No. Sometimes severe anxiety may make you feel like you're having palpitations or irregular heart beat. But it doesn't directly lead to heart disease. Although, over long periods of time (usually decades), the higher anxiety levels which can cause higher levels of stress hormone production (cortisol) is not good for you. High stress hormone levels can cause weight gain in the mid section of the torso and excess fat around your organs. The hormones and the fat can then cause increased risk of a variety of inflammatory conditions as well as things like diabetes, which are both bad for your vessels and heart.
2 :
No
3 :
Yes, that is why you should see a doctor for treatment of the anx/panic disorder !
4 :
You can end up having a heart attack or stroke.I ended up in hospital with heart problems due when I was 25 due to severe stress, break up, misscarriage and ilness of my mother and debt.It was all to much. Its imprtant to learn how to deal with anxiety/panic disorders.
5 :
The short answer is eventually it is possible. The better answer is that you should be concentrating on how well you otherwise are, and how to get better. Not ruminating about what could be, and conditions you dont have.. you have enough on your plate without worrying about extra stuff

Can I have heart disease with normal cholesterol and blood pressure

Can I have heart disease with normal cholesterol and blood pressure?

Heart Diseases - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
yes it is possible. High cholesterol and blood pressure contribute the the atherosclerosis of the heart arteries and myocardial hypertrophy accordingly, but there are number of other heart disorders. If you think you have pain or discomfort in the chest area or other bothering symptoms you need to see you family doctor.
2 :
There is numbers of heart disorders, which has nothing to do with cholesterol. Narrowing your question specifically to disease of arteries (atherosclerosis) – you have to understand that all this “high cholesterol panic” is organized and “promoted” by pharmaceuticals in order to sell their products. Yes, there is specific group of people, whose arteries’ walls are building plugs with alarming speed. And seemingly this group of people is having elevated bad cholesterol. However at this point it’s not completely proved that by reducing cholesterol in this specific group will reduce speed of their arteries getting dirty.
3 :
Cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease. So yes you can. Studies of people who have died of heart attack show that an equal number have high cholesterol, as have low cholesterol, as have normal cholesterol. Hmmm how could that be

How you can protect yourself from Heart disease

How you can protect yourself from Heart disease?

" To be healthy we need an accurate balance of foods. Some from the animal kingdom, and some from the vegetable kingdom. When the balance between these two sources, favor one type of food, (Animal) more than another,( Vegetable ) then disease makes its entrance. I suggest buying a Textbook on Physiological Biochemistry, so you may be able to answer your own questions. "
2 :
Heart disease prevention or protection can be classified into modifiable(can be changed) and non-modifiable(cannot change) For the modifiable factors can be controlled with a little will power. These include healthy balanced diet, active lifestyle and exercise, and smoking cessation. For the things you cant change that lead to heart disease, theres really nothing you can do. These include age(older, more prone to heart disease), sex (males have higher incidence), post-menopausal women, family history of heart disease and high cholesterol(cant change your genes!). Theres a lot more, but I gave you the more common ones.

dear human prove living without steres .tretmant infection in young age protect heart of many disease but now 1-sea food (fish) 2 time in week (increase HDL high densite lipoportoin) 2-sport 3-30 oz wine (likor) 3 time in week this 3 point protect of heart attack+be relax(never use tobaccos) dr reza
4 :
Eat more apples, bananas, cherries, fish, grapefruit, onions, peanuts and rice.
5 :
There are a number of risk factors known to contribute to heart disease such as: age, sex, family history of heart disease, smoking, sedentary lifestyle, obesity, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus (and degree of control), etc. Of these risk factors, we cannot do anything about some such as age, sex and family history. There are other risk factors we CAN change. These are the things we can look at to protect ourselves from heart disease. Quit smoking Take up an active lifestyle Have our blood pressure and cholesterol checked and if they are high we would need to take measures to lower them o Low Salt Diet o Low Fat Diet o Exercise o Reduce Stress o Medications to treat high blood pressure or high cholesterol Have our blood sugars checked for Diabetes, and if we have diabetes we would need to make sure we controlled our sugar levels very strictly.
