What would be the best way to replace a missing tooth, especially when you have profound heart disease

What would be the best way to replace a missing tooth, especially when you have profound heart disease?
I just had a molar pulled out and the site is really sore as well as the jawbone and teeth next to it, is this normal? I wanted to try to save the tooth, but since it had been crowned twice, posted and root cannaled, the dentist said it had to be pulled. It was abcess and had more decay under the crown. As a matter of fact, he found another tooth that has decay under the crown and says this one has to go too. They are the same dentists who placed the crowns originally. Shouldn't a crown last more than 2 or 3 years? The dentist gave me options on what I can do to replace the tooth: 1st, Do Nothing, 2nd, Temporary Bridge, 3rd a permanent bridge, and lastly a tooth implant. SInce I have major bone loss I would have to have a bone graft $750.00, Implant $1975.00 and the crown would be $1525.00 for a total of $4,400.00. Does this sound reasonable? In the past I have spent approx, $3,000.00 on that same tooth. Can anyone believe a total of over $7500.00 on one lousy tooth

That's why I have dentures. THere is no way a tooth should cost as much as a car. I did the implants first and was allergic to the posts that they implant to attach the tooth to. I had good insurance but still had a copay of about 1200 per tooth (4 teeth).

You are right, implants are very expensive. As far as replacing this tooth, you will need to determine if you want to use your teeth to chew food, or your gums. A permanent bridge is usually a great option as long as you take time to brush and floss around it well. Since you have a considerable amount of bone loss, I assume that you suffer from periodontal disease. Do you see the dental hygienist 2 to 4 times per year? Do you floss? And yes, a crown should last for 20 years... as long as it's being taken care of by you and the hygienist. Usually it does take several days for an extraction site to heal. If it has been a while, call your dentist. I'm not trying to lecture, I just hope that you're taking care of your teeth (brushing 2-3 times/day, flossing, etc.) If you are and are still having severe problems, maybe you should look for another dentist. Good luck

Only serious answers please. What are the exact symptoms of heart worm disease

Only serious answers please. What are the exact symptoms of heart worm disease?
How does the infestation happen? Does it first go through the stomach and then to the heart?

Heartworms go through several life stages before they become adults infesting the heart of the host animal. The worms require the mosquito as an intermediate stage in order to complete their life cycle and so at least two animal hosts other than the mosquito are required for the heartworm to reproduce. A mosquito ingests heartworm larvae, called microfilariae, from an infected host. The mosquito then transfers the larvae to another uninfected host when next it feeds. The microfilariae then go through several changes to reach adult form, eventually traveling to the right side of the heart to reproduce. Reproduction results in the dispersal of microfilariae into the bloodstream where ingestion by another feeding mosquito spreads the microfilariae to another host. At this stage, the host dog will likely be asymptomatic. Once the infestation reaches a certain concentration in the lungs, the now adult worms migrate from the pulmonary artery to the right side of the heart and begin to reproduce in earnest, filling the blood with microfilariae. At this point the host will begin to show symptoms of infestation. These symptoms can manifest earlier or increase in severity depending on the activity level of the animals as infestation reduces cardio-pulmonary capacity. Very active animals may experience symptoms at lower heartworm concentrations and have more severe symptoms than less active animals. Heartworms can reach up to 12 inches in length and can remain in the host's heart for several years.

Hi, Check out these websites: http://www.canismajor.com/dog/hartworm.html http://www.heartwormsociety.org/CanineHeartwormInfo.htm http://www.healthypet.com/library_view.aspx?id=53
4 :
coughing is the first symptom....dry cough and lethargy.....disease is caused by an infected mosquito biting a dog(untreated dog) the worms lodge and grow in the heart and eventually cause heart problems and death. the process takes a few years, but most dogs will die within 5 yrs. treamtment is expensive but is at least 95% effective with immiticide
5 :
heartworm prevention is so much cheaper and less stress than treating a dog for the disease. takes at least a min of 6mo from exposure to test postive for heartworm since it's in the blood stream. does not go thru stomach, this is a blood to heart disease. a mosquito can bite a cat or a coyote that has heartworm and then bite your unprotected dog and pass it along. extended periods of coughing, lethargy, lack of appetite, heavy breathing. as the worms become adults and reproduce the more will fill the heart, it's like being suffocated slowly. please get your pets tested and protected.
6 :
First off, usually by the time you notice symtoms of heartworms...the infection is awful and there is nothing you can do. That is why Vets recommend heartworm testing annually and heartworm prevention tablets once a month. Heartworms are transmitted thru a infected mosquitoe, that is why something like Advantix ( a liquid you apply monthly to prevent fleas, ticks and mosquitoes) is a good choice. Symtoms included....lethargy, bleeding from mouth and nose, bloated stomach...and just over all slowing down. The heartworms litterally take over the heart, the heart becomes so infested with heartworms, the blood can fit thru the arteries! If caught early, it IS treatable...good luck to you

what health benefits have you experienced with cranberry juice in relation to heart disease

what health benefits have you experienced with cranberry juice in relation to heart disease?
caused by gum disease?

I've never heard of Cranberry for heart disease, except that it may lower cholesterol: http://www.supermarketguru.com/page.cfm/1848 Since the fruit is fairly high in vitamin C, I can see where it would be good for gum disease and to assist in overall heath. It also keeps bacteria from sticking so would be good for the teeth and gums IF it had no sugar in it. See this article: http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/cranberry-000235.htm If I had gum disease, I would be using propylis and myrrh on my teeth, taking a HIGH vitamin C dose (about 3 grams a day of Ester-C), stop smoking or using caffeine. Also seek the help of a dental hygienist. If I had high cholesterol I would be using Milk Thistle Seed extract to cleanse my liver and taking apple pectin supplements and eating oat fiber

should i keep reminding my parents i have heart disease even if they get mad at me

should i keep reminding my parents i have heart disease even if they get mad at me?
i have mild heart disease, and there are certain things i can and cant eat and do, but when my parents ask me why, they get mad at me for saying its heart disease because they say im exaggerating. Should i teach them until they get it or should i just say 'yep your right' and take care of myself quietly? (i thought this was something you were supposed to talk with your family with)

I might try to educate them about the heart disease and some of the restrictions it causes. They might understand better then.
2 :
It's difficult to teach things to people they don't want to learn. Eat right and leave the food you don't want alone.
3 :
No, you are using your disease to manipulate them. I'm sure they know you have a disease. Learn to take care of yourself, because sooner or later you'll have to any how. You might politely remind your mom when she's cooking that something is not on the list of things you can eat. Don't be a smart ass like some kids do.
4 :
If your parents arent understanding and you try to talk to them and it dosent do any good you still do need to take care of yourself I understand your dillema I have some health issues and my parents never understand and it feels like they dont try to either! I talk to them and they pretend to understand and the day after I tell them they're back to not caring. Hope this helped

Does depression increase or decrease heart disease

Does depression increase or decrease heart disease?
I have the depression, don't really want heart disease....

Increase. It's a stress.
2 :
I'm sure that any type of forms such as depression and whatever else will increase the likelyhood of something else happening..... well ...not SURE SURE, just my opinion, seems that it would
3 :
I'm certainly no doctor but I would assume that depression would increase heart disease due to the fact that depression leads to stress. Stress is a often a large factor in one's health.
4 :
I know that depression can physically affect your entire body, so I wouldn't be surprise if it increased heart disease. I haven't seen any studies, though.
5 :
It deffinitly increases Heart Disease

The body mass index I can be used to determine an individuals risk for heart disease. An index less than 25?
indicates a low risk. The body mass index is given by the formula, or model I=700W/h2where w=weight, in pounds and h=height in inches. Jerome is 71 inches tall. What weights will keep his body mass index between 22 and 33?

BMI is your waist circumference. As long as it is below 30 on anyone, it is considered a good Body Mass Index. Over 30 is high. So 33 is out of the question. It has no bearing on your height, but weight and waist size mostly
