I'm not famous but if you like to make me famous feel free. But i had heart disease since 20. I am now 23-years-old with children and a fiance and its very hard for me. Every since i started needing surgeries to save my life i developed depression and now see a counselor to give me that extra boost when needed. I feel worthless not being able to do physical activity with my children and it hurts. But i manage because im still living and here with my children

Go jogging together or hit the gym with him. Exercise is a lot funner with two people.
2 :
A VERY STRICT DIET OF LEAN MEATS LOTS OF VEGETABLES AND WATER
3 :
be very supportive. stick with him/her all the way
4 :
Just be a supportive friend.
5 :
Just dont p*ss him off as his rise in blood pressure would be bad.
6 :
u b friends with him/ her try 2 have most fun possible keep em happy
7 :
Be supportive. Offer to go to appointments with him/her for support.
8 :
pray and get them to exercise
9 :
He needs to go and see a doctor. He also needs to know that he has a good friend who will stick by him, so let him know that you're there when he needs you.
10 :
There are "help groups" for everyone and every illness. Check with your local health department and see if they can give you any ideas...and just be supportive and as helpful as you can...Good Luck to you and your friend.
11 :
Just be with him and spend lots of time with him try to be his freind if he is hospitilized or if this disease could be fatal
12 :
You're a good friend. I suggest you educate yourself about his disease, then ask how you can help. Try this link to find information, ask questions and learn the best way to offer support. http://www.mayoclinic.org/support-groups/heart-groups.html
13 :
You are not a doctor, your job is to be a good friend. Ask him if there is anything he wants to talk about. Make sure he knows you are there for him. Keep his mind occupied on fun things. I hope he gets better. Good Luck.
14 :
exercise is the INPORTANT word here!! also a healthy diet!! your friend can beat this but it will be tough and you will have to be hard on him/her!! good luck to you both
15 :
As a friend, you could help him find better eating habits meaning food that are good for the heart and the ones that he should stay away from. You could do some research and guide him/her with it. YOu could be an ear or shoulder to cry on when this person is feeling bad or scared. There is not much you can do other than support him and help him out if he is living an unhealthy lifestyle. The worst thing one can do i think is over do it meaning really babying him and feeling sorry for him because depending on what kind of a person he is..you could easily be taken advantage of.. But overall. just be there for him and find ways that could help live a healthy lifestyle and cast away his fears if he has any. sorry to hear bout your friend but nowaday in he medical field ..there is so much that can be done to help..xxx Best of luck to you and your friend..I'm sure he/she will be fine
16 :
♥thats sad but yoo can help him by keeping his hopes up♥ ♥what does he really want too doo take him there♥ ♥tri yoor hardest nott too cry near him or he'll bee sad♥ ♥buy him/her something they allways wanted like jewlery♥ ♥thats what i did too miy friend hoo died of that too days ago♥ give some money too the heart foundation he'd/she'd like♥ ♥that im in jump rope for heart and that helps bring up♥ ♥money for heart foundation i'll tri even harder too finish it♥ ♥with $1,000,000 were close so don't worry♥
17 :
You have to encourage your friend to follow a healthy diet, cut down on fat, red meat, salt and sugar. Also exercise is crucial but if your friend is overweight or not exercised in a long time he/she should start slowly. It has been proven in studies that a daily dose of 30mg aspirin is helpful Regards Empress
18 :
Tell him to go to the doctor. DUH
19 :
THIS is what my mom had and when we lost my sister -1 day short of a month she gave up. 1. Find out what medications your friend is taking and keep the list on door and table for emergency so if the medics have an idea of what medicines are being taken. 2. Get your friend a note-book writing tablet and put the whole month of days on it (DAY AND DATE). THAT WAY THEY CAN WRITE THE TIME THEY TAKE ALL MEDICINES FOR THAT DAY BECAUSE THEY MIGHT FORGET-THIS WILL GET THEM INTO THE HABIT OF KEEPING TRACK. They cannot afford t skip any medicnines. 3. If you hear a "GURGLE SOUND OR WEAKNESS IN VOICE" THAT COULD BE FLUID ON THE LUNGS WHICH CAN STOP THE HEART - IF THEY DON'T DRAIN IT-THEY CAN DIE. CALL 911 AND GET THE LIST AND MEDICINES AND TAKE TO HOSPITAL. KEEP IN PLASTIC "ZIP LOCK" BAG ON TABLE TO GRAB. MAKE SURE HOSPITAL GIVES ALL MEDICINE BACK OR THEY WILL HAVE TO BUY MORE-THAT STUFF IS "EXPENSIVE". 4. ASK YOUR FRIEND IF THEY ARE ON A "BLOOD THINNER" TO KEEP THE BLOOD FROM CLOTTING. IF NOT- ask if the doctor has them taking ASPRIN REGULAR OR BAYER CHILDRENS ASPRIN TO KEEP THE BLOOD THIN. "ECOTRIN "IS ONE THEY GIVE PATIENTS THAT IS COATED ASPRIN. 5. IF someone you know is having a HEART ATTACK and they are not "ALLERGIC TO ASPRIN OR BAYER CHILDRENS ASPRIN-PUT ONE UNDER THE "TONGUE" AND IT CAN HELP SAVE THEIR LIFE UNTIL YOU GET THEM TO THE HOSPITAL. 6. GIVE THEM A PIECE OF "DARK CHOCOLATE" IT UNCLOGS ARTERIES!-IT'S TRUE! 7. THEY SHOULD BE DRINKING WELCH'S GRAPE JUICE! 8. KEEP them as independant as possible and they can do arm and leg exercises in chair from your local "fitness channel". 9. BE A GOOD LISTINER-THIS SCARES THEM -BUT THEY WON'T TEL YOU! GOD BLESS! YOU'RE A TRUE FRIEND!
20 :
Do nothing. You are not a cardiologist. No advice, no kindly words, nothing. You can smack "Hot chick model" for that annoying stupid answer.
21 :
Tell him to eat less hamburger, cheese, eggs & other fatty food.
22 :
Be supportive.keep him happy and stress free.leave him in tension free environment

This sounds like a desperate situation. This person needs to visit his physician ASAP! The person you are referring to needs to get on a healthy eating plan...now. No fast foods! Lean meats, veggies, fruits and whole grains. Certainly the person in question should limit their intake of fats! Tell your friendGood luck Sorry I can't recommend exercise til (he) sees his Dr.
2 :
dude... go to the doctor and dont drive there run there fast.
3 :
That of course depends on the heart disease... but being overweight also reduces life expectancy...
4 :
It would depend on how advanced the heart disease was. Check with your doctor. A healthy diet is a medical necessity at this point.
5 :
It is very difficult to reach a prognosis at this age, in my opinion he can live a normal life if he starts exercising or join a gym with weight reducing exercises, and consult a dietrician. He should consult his physician regularly. REMEMBER NO WEIGHT SO CALLED WEIGHT REDUCING SUPPLEMENTS OK

Do people with ME/CFS have more chance of getting cancer and/or heart disease?
Some websites say sufferers have a drasticly reduced lifespan and are many times more likely to develop cancer but others say there is no evidence to suggest they do not have a normal lifespan? Whats the truth?

Why myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) may kill you: disorders in the inflammatory and oxidative and nitrosative stress (IO&NS) pathways may explain cardiovascular disorders in ME/CFS. Maes M, Twisk FN. Maes Clinics, Wilrijk - Antwerp, Belgium. crc.mh@telenet.be Abstract There is evidence that disorders in inflammatory and oxidative and nitrosative (IO&NS) pathways and a lowered antioxidant status are important pathophysiological mechanisms underpinning myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). Important precipitating and perpetuating factors for ME/CFS are (amongst others) bacterial and viral infections; bacterial translocation due to an increased gut permeability; and psychological stress. Recently, Jason et al (2006) reported that the mean age of patients with myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome dying from heart failure, i.e. 58.7 years, is significantly lower than the age of those dying from heart failure in the general US population, i.e. 83.1 years. These findings implicate that ME/CFS is a risk factor to cardio-vascular disorder. This review demonstrates that disorders in various IO&NS pathways provide explanations for the earlier mortality due to cardiovascular disorders in ME/CFS. These pathways are: a) chronic low grade inflammation with extended production of nuclear factor kappa B and COX-2 and increased levels of tumour necrosis factor alpha; b) increased O&NS with increased peroxide levels, and phospholipid oxidation including oxidative damage to phosphatidylinositol; c) decreased levels of specific antioxidants, i.e. coenzyme Q10, zinc and dehydroepiandrosterone-sulphate; d) bacterial translocation as a result of leaky gut; e) decreased omega-3 polyunsatutared fatty acids (PUFAs), and increased omega-6 PUFA and saturated fatty acid levels; and f) the presence of viral and bacterial infections and psychological stressors. The mechanisms whereby each of these factors may contribute towards cardio-vascular disorder in ME/CFS are discussed. ME/CFS is a multisystemic metabolic-inflammatory disorder. The aberrations in IO&NS pathways may increase the risk for cardiovascular disorders. PMID: 20038921 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE]

I think you are just having a mild heart attack.. its nothing serious.....JK GET YOUR ASS TO THE HOPSPITAL PRONTO you dont mess around with heart problems
2 :
I hope you have already gone to the hospital but if you are still online and reading this here are symptoms of heart disease. Chest discomfort, heaviness, pressure, aching, burning, fullness, squeezing or a painful feeling in your chest are all heart disease symptoms. Sometimes these symptoms be mistaken for indigestion or heartburn. While pain or discomfort is usually felt in the chest, it may be felt in the shoulders, arms, neck, throat, jaw or back. Other heart disease symptoms include: * Shortness of breath * Irregular heart beats, palpitations, or skipped beats * A rapid heartbeat * Weakness * Dizziness * Nausea * Sweating Here are signs that a heart attack might be happening: * Discomfort, pressure, heaviness, or pain in the chest, arm or below the breastbone. Discomfort in other areas of the upper body including one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach * Fullness, indigestion, (may feel like heartburn) nausea, vomiting * Dizziness or lightheadedness * Extreme weakness * Anxiety * Rapid or irregular heartbeat * Shortness of breath * Breaking out in a cold sweat During a heart attack, symptoms typically last 30 minutes or longer and are not relieved by rest or medication. Initially, symptoms can start as mild discomfort, then progress to significant pain. Symptoms may go away and come back. If you think you might be having a heart attack, get to a hospital or better yet, call 9-1-1 immediately. The sooner you get help the better the chances are for recovery. If you wait until tomorrow, it may be too late. Good luck.

Gentleman in Mexico recently made the news again because he was down to 540 lbs from 1100 lbs or something like that . You do NOT necessarily die from it , you just get bigger and bigger Until your skeleton / muscles can't support your body fat so you just lie in bed . The REAL question is , How Long until you are bed bound and make the news because the ambulance had to forklift you out and use a special truck to get you to the hospital ? Which local news would your debut be on

What is your opinion on the belief that chlorine in tap water is the cause heart disease or atherosclerosis

What is your opinion on the belief that chlorine in tap water is the cause heart disease or atherosclerosis?
Does ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, neutralize chlorine or chloramine in tap water? (I think it was Dr. Weston Price that came up with this conclusion) http://www.ilikewater.com/

if it was that easy!

Tap water produced by municipalities is tested on a constant basis to insure safety. Those who can taste chlorine in the water need only to let the water stand uncovered for a few moments and the chlorine taste will disappear. The cause of heart disease is not drinking enough water - chronic unintentional dehydration. Atherosclerosis - or plaque build up - is actually beneficial to the body. There is no such thing as "bad cholesterol". This is just a term that has been capitalized on by the pharmaceutical industry to push their products. When you become dehydrated, the blood becomes acidic with toxins. As the blood passes through the lungs, it becomes even more dehydrated when additional moisture is lost through respiration. It then enters the arteries with a shearing effect that causes minute tears and abrasions to the artery walls. To prevent this damage from peeling away and causing an embolism in the brain or lung or other major organ, the body produces the so-called "bad" cholesterol to cover and protect the damaged areas until they can be repaired. Correcting the dehydration by increasing the water and salt intake will allow the immune system to heal the damaged areas, thereby reducing the cholesterol levels

According to the areticle below only 36% are free of risk factors, so that means that 64% are at risk. So your chance of getiing heart disease is 64 in 100, thats pretty high!
