I don't think it does, but i think it is more common in males in females.
2 :
yes. that's the number one killer of women.
3 :
Guys have more testosterone so their heart can pump better and it's bigger in size, so there's less of a chance of heart disease.
4 :
Don't know...but I do know your risk of DYING from heart disease is far greater if you're a female. This is thought to be due more to the medical community's inattention to female symptoms than from any difference in disease severity. (looks like you may be on the winning side of that part of the equation) Oh...and menopause plays a role in women's heart health...so gender may be not entirely applicable as a basis...you might have to split it into pre- and post-menopausal gender areas. (I know estrogen provides some protective effects...for instance, estrogen grabs cholesterol out of the bloodstream and turns it into fat. Once you lose your estrogen, you lose that benefit.)
5 :
Gender affects the risk of heart disease because the hormones that naturally occur in men and women promote different patterns of fat deposit. Testosterone promotes the development of fat in the abdominal region, which is more detrimental to your heart than storing fat in the thighs, arms, and buttocks. After menopause, women tend to develop exactly the same risk of heart disease as men, just typically later in life

if your doing a project on this why don't you include the causes of heart disease such as family history , eating habits , smoking , stress and then along with this include the procedures that they "fix" the problems with your heart such as angiograms , which is where they place stent in your chest to open the coronary arteries , this is the most common for cardiologists , then a tad bit more severe is bypass surgery when they graft in a vein to feed the heart blood
2 :
Fact #1: You might consider a pie chart showing the slices which represent the leading causes of death with the slice for heart disease being largest. Fact #2: You might consider a stop watch with a picture of a heart with damage (possibly an 'x' on a portion of the heart to represent damage) at each 20 second mark and a picture of a non-functioning (perhaps a heart with a line drawn through it) heart at 60 seconds. Fact #3: You might consider a graph which shows the number of people who die each year in the US and the number of people who die from heart disease and from the other major causes of death as well. This would be in a sense a duplication from Fact #1 so a bar graph would be preferable to another pie chart. I wish you the very best of health and in all things may God bless. JR

Many factors lead to heart disease, so even if you don't have high blood pressure the risk could still be increased due to another lifestyle or genetic factor.
2 :
definitely.
3 :
well, alice just said it almost all. be active, be alert or careful about what you put in your mouth be it medicine pills, food, bad drugs or good drugs, prescription drugs... it may react in your system and could cause heart defect or clogg in your veins - that could lead for heart malfunction or what you call heart disease.
4 :
Yes. Many people who have heart problems also have high blood pressure, but you don't have to have one to have the other. Some risk factors for heart disease include smoking, elevated cholesterol, age, lack of exercise, and high blood pressure.
5 :
The term "heart disease" covers a lot of territory. There are many maladies, generally called "heart disease", that can occur. You can have a form of heart disease and not have high blood pressure. In fact just the opposite can be true. You can have some type of heart disease and have LOW blood pressure. There are many types of arrhythmias that can take place, some with little effect on blood pressure. I could go on, but you get the point.
6 :
well This is elastic question. What kind of heart disease you mean. Heart diseases are caused by many things and there are many diseases occur without any preceding risks. Avoid risk factors for the coronary&hypertension heart disease which are preventable Normal blood pressure is good for heart and other body organs health. best wishes
