I am a heart disease patient who else?
I had a aorta dissection on August 15th,2008 i underwent the debakey II standford type A surgery it went sucessful but im constantly in and out of the hospital why am i so sick? has anyone went threw this? or going threw it?

You do realize that you're lucky to be alive right now, right? Aortic Dissection is a rare and deadly condition. No, honey, I haven't gone through anything like this, I had a heart attack 4 years ago, and I have a stent in my LAD, but nothing in comparison to what you're going through. I'm so sorry. Your body is struggling to recover from the procedures you've had, and your immune system may not be very strong right now. Take good care of your health, and follow the doctors oorders and you might be feeling better in time. You have to consider what you've been through, and give your body a chance. I had open heart surgery twice in oneday 1st for an aortic valve replacement and to have my aorta replaced with a dacron graft so that I didnt dissect like you...Boy are you lucky to be alive man!...I still go and get check ups but I dont feel unwell. Have you visited the Aortic Dissection website?...have a look there...Brian who runs it would be pleased to chat with you. Its still relatively early days for you...you will feel better a s days and months go on...you need to keep a look out for feelings of depression which are really common after this sort of thing. my bf has a heart disease and now im freaking out about what could happen! we're both 13 years old if that helps at all so if u could, could u answer these questions? *whats the worst that could happen? *is it possible for heart disease to go away? *will it effect how long he lives for? thank u soo much!

It really depends on the type. Some are very mild and just need to be monitored - some are very serious and are progressive. It would be easier to get information if you know which condition he has.
