Obesity, High Blood Pressure, and Stress create the “perfect storm” for cancer, diabetes, heart disease and stroke. How would our health system change if Americans took personal responsibility for their own health?

They already do. Some believe that the key to this situation is to focus on the younger generation and involve them in prevention and healthy living early on and establish a good foundation for their future health. Some studies have shown that taking care of yourself during the early years and making good food choices and maintaining a healthy weight has more impact on a person's health than anything they may do after they reach adulthood.

Eating salty, fatty foods. The heart is a muscle. Muscles like protein, they like to be cleansed with water. They like fresh air to replenish themselves. Some chemicals do not go with the heart. Nature has tags on those. If you see a person falling over and dying, because they ate a plant or they got it into their body somehow, think that that natural plant is a BIG NO-NO for human beings, because the chemical components do not go along with human beings, they go along with something else. It's like piecing together a puzzle. You have to find what is right for you. Think of the body as night and day. Some natural things on earth are all night. Some natural things are all day. Some things on earth are night and day. The body can handle some night and day things. The body can handle some only day things, and some only night things, but you have to be careful about putting your body out of whack. Nature supplies people and animals with food and water and the sun. Too much of anything can hurt you, too little of anything can hurt you. You want to be right in the middle, just like noon is in the middle. You are only human, you are not all night and you are not all day. You are the middle.

Factor one is the diet. It is rich in fatty foods, lots of animal fats. This will lead to obesity and heart disease. Also, higher alcohol consumption will lead to heart disease. Cigarette smoking will have impact on heart as well

It measures your heart's rhythm, and shows any irregularities. Heart disease is a broad spectrum of things that can be wrong, from heart murmurs, to plaque buildup within the heart, to congenital anomalies etc. It doesnt show exactly what is wrong, the doctor has to interpret the reading with your other labs, and history.
2 :
I don't know but I have read a story about long Q-T syndrome where the doctor didn't bother to measure the distance between Q and T and therefore didn't diagnose it. Also sometimes heart symptoms don't show up because they are occasional.
3 :
It's a good test but only one test. Doctors should have specific testing recommendations for specific situations. And there is nothing wrong with getting a second opinion!
4 :
An echo can show the size and some of the functioning of the heart. It can show enlargement of chambers, it can show how the valves are working.. It doesn't show much in the way of the blood flow to the heart muscle.
5 :
No to both. An Echo can measure the flow of blood through the cambers of the heart, and out from the heart. If this flow of blood is abnormally slow or irregular, it MIGHT indicate somekind of problem which would need further tests to determine specifics. By itself it cannot give specifics; its value lies in being a first line NON-invasive test.

Not all but most.

Heart problems can arise from several different causes namely: heart muscle problems, valve problems, plumbing problems (like artery blockages) or wiring problems (like arrhythmias). An echo may be quite helpful in diagnosing first two heart ailments while not being of much help in diagnosing others. More on echocardiogram here http://drchander.com/echo.html
8 :
ECG will show any eletrical damage and an ECHO will show any physical damage. You will see an old heart attack or one happinging now with the Ecg. and also the rhythm and irregular beats called ectopy. You will see Valve problems and defects with the Echo. Jerry
9 :
No , echocardiogram has its limitation in investigation of heart disease
10 :
Yes, I know someone who had test recently and it usually shows up any abnormal rhythms etc.
